I love Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday because it is purely about gratitude. Here at Johnstone Carroll we have a lot to be thankful for this year. Among other things, we are fortunate to have great clients and great cases to work on. However, I’m not here to talk about the law; I’m here to share my Uncle Chuck’s Thanksgiving Dressing recipe.
First, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 2-3 quarts of chicken stock
- 3 quarts of day-old crumbled cornbread
- ½ quart of day-old biscuit or wheat bread
- 1 ½ onions
- ¾ cup of celery
- 2 eggs
- 12 oz. Jimmy Dean sausage
Dice and sauté the onion and celery in a pan. Also, brown the Jimmy Dean sausage. Then mix all of the ingredients together in a casserole dish. Use enough chicken stock to thoroughly moisten the mix. Bake the mix for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. The dressing should still be moist when you pull it out of the oven. You can dress with giblet gravy or serve plain. Enjoy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
